“Working Green Wood” is all about being hands on!
That’s why we really care about encouraging all to have ago! (5yrs – 95yrs!)  Green wood working is an old Countryside Craft and Skill, giving us a way of using wood sourced from local woodlands, to make various house and garden items, without the use of power tools!
Learning these skills is vital to keeping a tiny part of our great Countryside ‘living’ heritage alive. Passed on down the generations, Basket weavers, Pole lathe turners, Woven hurdle makers, Hedge layers, all these skills are encompassed within greenwood working. Here at ‘Funky Monkey’ we actively encourage young and old hands to pick up and use these tools. “Have a Go” at hewing a rustic tent peg or cleaving and shaping up a mallet. Why? “Cause Its fun, rewarding, inspiring and good for the body and soul”.

Take exit 13 off the M1 motorway, or leave the A5 at Hockliffe for the A4012. Woburn Safari Park is well signed from these locations.
From London
Follow signs for the M1 and the Midlands. Join the M1 and head north, until Junction 13 (signposted Bedford A421, Woburn, A4012 & Ampthill A507). Follow signs for Woburn and the A4012 (see map above).
From Birmingham
Follow signs for the M6 & London. Join the M1 at junction 19 and head south. Exit at Junction 13 (signposted Bedford A421, Woburn, A4012 & Ampthill A507). Follow signs for Woburn and the A4012 (see map above).
From A5
Follow signs for the A5 for Hockliffe. Join the A4012.
